Young Adult Male Therapy

Mental health-wise, men are struggling.
Current data confirms that young men are struggling in education, employment, and mental health.
20% of young men under 30 still live with their parents. Young men’s suicide rates are four times higher than women’s, and they are three times more likely to die by drug overdose.
Educational levels and financial earnings have continued to decline for young men since 2010, but have risen for women. This alarming trend does not negatively impact just men, but women and children as well.
Young men are, quite simply, our future husbands, fathers, and male role models for our next generation. Something needs to be done to offset the negative trends.
This should be a time of positive growth.
Embracing difficult things is a necessity for a young man; avoiding challenges at a time when he should be eager to take risks has lasting consequences.
A young man does not turn on a switch at 26 and say, “I’m ready now.” A young man’s 20s should not be viewed as a rite of passage or extended adolescence, but as a time when he is not afraid to push himself past his comfort zone.
This is where confidence first develops, enabling you to move forward through each life milestone. The reason this is important is simple; it is a continued requirement as a husband, father, and positive male model.

Therapy can help reduce the struggles.
A young man who is struggling needs wise counsel and direction. It does not necessarily mean someone who will tell them what to do and what not to do, but rather someone who will help them find answers and direction within themselves.
I do not want and cannot simply solve a young man’s problems. My role is to foster a relationship to guide the young man in developing and strengthening the skills he already possesses. These skills seem simple, but are difficult for many young men in their 20s in a digital world.
Asking someone on a date, how to answer job interview questions, and finding interest in life are often concerns for young men and their parents. Witnessing young males embrace direction and gain confidence in themselves offers hope that their efforts will be sustained as they build a family and a better quality of life.
After working with young men for some time, I understand their needs and can offer encouragement and guidance. Don’t continue to struggle with life’s challenges. Contact me today to learn more about how I can help.
